Most Dangerous Water Slides

Slide through 7 of the most dangerous waterslides on Earth.

Slide through 7 of the most dangerous waterslides on Earth.

#7 Xtreme Faser

Dare to take a trip down this 67 meter long ride with a crazy speed of up to 72 miles per hour? Our first hazardous slide is situated in Germany’s Galaxy-Erding Tropical Spa and Waterpark. The Xtreme Faser is the only waterslide among the 20 various slides in the park that is not suited for women. What in the world? According to reports, after recording several female guests who required medical attention for “private injuries”, the officials banned women from riding the slide in 2012. Though it is still a mystery to experts as to why it only happens to women and not to men, the park’s manager Marcus Maier claims that it’s due to the “female anatomy” making it not suitable to them. Investigation is still on-going while the park is creating a protective suit that women can wear so they will be able to experience this adventurous waterslide without harm.

#6 AquaSphere

Waterparks may be an ideal place to bond with the family for some relaxing and fun activities, but the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Center in Frankston, Australia could be another site to bond — but not in a joyous way. This adventure just might bring parents to watch their kids getting treatment for multiple water slide-related injuries. The PARC has a horrifying slide named “AquaSphere” that has been linked to absurdly high cases of accidents. In one case, two adults hit their heads inside the slide’s tunnel causing them to suffer head injuries. In fact, the park officials shut down the terrifying water slide for 10 months due to serious accidents. However, it did not take long for another major accident to happen — only days after it re-opened. This time, a woman faced severe back pain right after sliding in the AquaSphere, and on another occasion, a boy fell off from the tube inside the ride and suffered terrible battering before he was saved by the rescue team. Based on the witness’s claims, the boy lost consciousness for over 15 minutes. That’s not the worst part. Right when the facility opened, around September 2014, the AquaSphere was still closed. Why? Because the staff who tested the slide suffered minor injuries, despite the thought that the PARC had already fixed its safety issues. Clearly not.

#5 Black Hole

One must sit in an inflatable tube to witness the mystery lingering inside the darkness of this water slide. The Wet ‘n Wild Water Park in Orlando offers its riders a trip inside a tunnel featuring its ever-changing and dizzying array of colorful LED lights. The Black Hole’s adventure proudly boasts its steady rainbow ring that suddenly bursts in blue and green light until riders see the light at the end of the slide. Despite its colorful secret inside, the Black Hole does have a dark history. In 1994, a man suffered severe injuries and won $1.74 million dollars in damages. He states in a report that he got startled by the dark and when he arrived at the bottom part, he could not move his legs, so the doctors had to insert a titanium plate into his neck to save him!

#4 MASSIV Monster Blaster

A roller coaster in a slide? How is that possible? A wild ride in Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Texas has an 81 foot tall slide that is the world’s tallest “water coaster”! MASSIV Monster Blaster literally goes UP and DOWN more than 4 times. Not only that, this incredible coaster does twists, turns, splashes, and even drops from over 300 meters high. You may even get an extreme blast off when it curves while you enjoy the dizzying light show inside the tunnel. This would be the perfect slide to ride especially for thrillers who are tired of the commercial slides. So, better gather all your courage and grab your bravest friend to slide up and down with you!

#3 Leap of Faith

Have a step inside the tube then get ready to jet yourself down from 60 feet in the air to meet the terrifying lagoon. This bizarre water slide, found at the Atlantis Waterpark in the Bahamas will lead you to the world of one of the scariest animals on earth. The Leap of Faith has a clear acrylic tunnel that makes its riders fall for over 18 meters down the side of a faux ancient Mayan Temple, until they find themselves face-to-face with the big, sharp teeth of a shark! But no worries, the waterslide is markedly safe from the shark attack.

#2 Cannonball Loop

Meet the world’s infamous water slide making its riders hose down, just to improve the chances of a successful land at the end. The Action Park’s Cannonball Loop is a notorious ride that even some prominent adventurers don’t want to do with. The long black tube has a loop on its end that looks impossible to surpass. According to some reports, the Cannonball Loop opened during the summer of 1985, but only survived for a month, as the New Jersey Central Amusement Ride Safety Board officially shut it down because it crossed the line of safety. How did it even last for a month? Well, the Action Park offered their employees that whomever would test the slide would get $100! Without even thinking, they potentially sacrificed their lives and not being able to see their families again. Action Park did admit that they sent their staff on the slide, and also that they actually did not mind if some of them came out with missing body parts. That is really shocking!

#1 Insano

This may be the steepest and most ridiculous waterslide ever. A ride that is 140 feet tall, which is roughly 14 stories high, will leave you breathless — and it’s none other than the Insano Waterslide in Brazil. Those who are amazingly fearless might be able to handle its top speeds of approximately 65 miles per hour. Its steepness is no joke. In fact, staff from Beach Park witnessed numerous of their riders crying, panicking, and shivering upon seeing how high the slide is. Just like its name, Insano also brings a vibe of uncertainty. One mistake gliding down would take you off the slide, so in this case, waterslide’s officials carefully demonstrate toits riders the proper position for sliding. Right crossing of arms and legs, then lying down completely on the slide you are now bound to overlook any scenery and prepare to drop down with its extreme speed!
