This isolated hotel sticks out from Aescher Cliff in Switzerland in the mountainous area of the country. It’s a guesthouse that offers a dormitory-like vibe where everything is insanely cheap! Be sure to schedule your trip between the months of May and October as these are the only periods that Aescher Cliff is open to the public. This fantastic lodging also has stellar views of nature.

#9 Sewage Pipe Pods, Austria

This huge sewage pipe also serves as a cabin! In Austria, you can book a room inside a pipe shaped lodging and feel like you are underground. The Sewage Pods of Das Park Hotel are masterpieces crafted by the Austrian architect Andreas Strauss. Every pod has a double comfy bed, a classy lamp, blankets, minimal storage for necessities, and a power outlet. Ironically, there is no bathroom inside of this pod. They make use of the sewage pipe, but there isn’t a sewage system. There are public baths around the area where you can wash yourself.

#8 The Balancing Barn, England

This impressive lodging in England has the splendid structure of a hotel and is perched on a dazzling hillside in Suffolk. #7 CasAnus, Belgium

This interesting cabin is situated in Belgium. It forms a giant sculpture of a human intestine! CasAnus has bulbous features and is anatomical, right down to the veins. Located in the secluded area of a Belgian field, it has a comfy double bed, amazing electricity, perfect heat, and a fantastic bathroom with hot water.

#6 Capsule Hotel, Netherlands

This orange capsule in the Netherlands can remind you of The Life Aquatic of Wes Anderson. The stunning structure served as a rescue pod for an oil rigger in the 70s. The mastermind of this cabin is the artist Denis Oudenjik who creatively transformed the capsule into a floating hotel over 4.24 meters wide. The creation of the Capsule Hotel was originally intended to be an art project until it became one of the interesting places to check out. Among the fantastic features of this capsule is their addition of a lock and an emergency chemical toilet inside which is said to be useful if unexpected situations happen.

#5 Creepy Catacombs, Paris

The popular booking app Airbnb invested almost $400,000 to be active in promoting morbidity during a fall season. This Halloween sleepover place is actually filled with the skulls of dead people! The Creepy Catacombs in Paris is an underground ossuary that keeps the remains of over six million deceased people! It is the largest graveyard in the world! Because of the history of this place, it is able to draw attention and peak people’s cultural curiosity, especially juvenile travelers. The theme has ended and there are no official words yet from Airbnb on whether they are going to repeat this theme in upcoming years. Check out their site to watch for announcements.

#4 Prison Hotel, Stockholm

This is a place where guests can live like a prisoner. The Prison Hotel in Stockholm features a highlight where you can choose between comfortable suites or locked quarters with caged doors as a room. For the locked quarters, there are rooms with barred windows and bunk beds for your buddies or “cellmates”. To make it more authentic, you wear black and white striped pajamas to complete your outfit as a prisoner. The crews and staff are in the character of law enforcement guards which adds to the atmosphere of a prison.

#3 Henn-na Hotel, Japan

In Nagasaki, there is a one of a kind hotel where the operators are robots! The Henn-na Hotel located in Huis Ten Bosch theme park is famously recognized as the world’s first hotel to be staffed by robots. In the lobby, guests are welcomed by bizarre Japanese English speaking humanoids and robots as receptionists of the hotel. They are also the ones to assist with your concerns like checking-in and room services as the in-room robot staff. There are humans who will help you in case of robot malfunctions.

#2 Save the Beach Hotel, Rome

The German artist HA Shult thought of something that could make a big difference to the environment, the world’s very first hotel made out of trash! This masterpiece was built for the purpose of completely cleaning up the entirety of Europe’s beaches and having their natural beauty bloom once again. Save the Beach Hotel in Rome is a significant symbol of the hotel’s mission to help nature. The splendid interiors and exteriors of the hotel are composed of used plastic bottles, crushed cans, old instruments, and limbs of discarded mannequins. This haven has set a new standard for captivating attractions and has been gaining countless visitors so they can personally witness and experience staying there.

#1 Propeller Island City Lodge, Berlin

This lodging is located in Berlin. If you are curious as to why there’s no “hotel” in this paradise’s name, the Propeller Island City Lodge is more like a sanctuary that focuses on the majestic work of art. This lodge is composed of odd rooms and facilities. You might even think that you are floating in the air when you enter a room that features strange positions of beds and other furniture as everything levitates. This place also boasts their coffin bed suite where you can rest in peace. There’s also a suite where everything is situated upside down and a room where all the furnishings are hanging from the ceiling.
