#10 Cabo Girão

It may look like a work of magic, but it is actually a glass skywalk platform built in 2012. It allows visitors to pretend to defy gravity as they stand out over the edge and get mesmerized by the magnificent views all around. This steep cliff looms over the southern coast of Madeira, an island inside an archipelago of the same name. Cabo Girão is one of the highest cliffs in Europe that is situated over 1,932 feet above sea level. With its enchanting deep ocean view beneath, it is enough to feel the thrill. Just a gentle reminder, the glass skywalk is not for the weak-hearted. Anyone can freely access the cliff and enjoy the amazing scenery, as the cliff skywalk does not have an admission fee.

The area’s natural streetlights are only the moon and the stars; its raw beauty characterizes its iconic image. Luck will be with you to experience the unspoiled special moment on this cliff, otherwise, summer’s fog will welcome you. Big Sur was a retreat site for artists and writers before, but now everyone is welcome to reflect on the continent’s emerald green edge.

#6 Qingshui Cliff

Do you dare to trek on the steepest cliff? A spectacular cliff and one of Taiwan’s eight wonders, this beauty raises it up to 800 meters or 2,600 feet! Qingshui Cliff is made from marble and gneiss, and it is the only cliff on the coastal road towards Tanoko National Park. It is the only place where you can witness the magnificent distinct tones that make up the Pacific Ocean and the shade of these cliffs. The coastline and the impressive blue sky can make every visitor an admirer. To access Qiunshui Cliff, walk a ten minute trail in Chongde down to the beach, until you see Suhua Highway suddenly disappear into the cliff. This location’s mystic build will leave you puzzling, wondering, and bewildering as to how a certain section was crafted, just like how a dream fantasy begins to bloom. Culturally curious? Trek it out, mate!

#5 Ètretat

More than just a steep wall will grab your interest on France’s Alabaster Coast. With Claude Monet-style scenery and arched rock formations in your view, at its 80-mile stretch, you will witness natural sculptures that resemble no other things on Earth. Ètretat may be small but don’t belittle it due to its size. Unlike many other wonders, this spot of coast is not for bathing, although it does have pebble beaches; the real highlight of this treasure is the surrounding cliffs. This location makes for one of the most visited sites in Normandy. The site also boasts sweeping scenic views overlooking the English Channel. A white and gray cliff features dramatic arches, and a needle-like-rock emerges from the deep blue water. Travelers can access the cliffs through railway transportation known as “le train touristique Étretat Pays de Caux”, a tourist train that you can enjoy on the high chalk cliff!

#4 Cliffs of Moher

On an inspiring coastline that can leave explorers awestruck, a historical landmark in Ireland rises up to 120 meters over the Atlantic Ocean – the Cliffs of Moher. Recognized with high respect for accommodating a large population of tourists annually, these cliffs also serve as a good home for several animals and over 20 bird species. The cliff offers a variety of extraordinary experiences. You may immerse yourself in the hidden scenic view on a clear day such as the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, the Twelve Pins, and the Maum Turk Mountains.

#3 The Amphitheatre

Step over above the sea of puffy white clouds, hike over the rocky trail, and feel the almost 4,000 feet high wall of rock cliff! One of South Africa’s most photographed attractions is found in Royal Natal National Park of Drakensberg, and it is known as The Amphitheatre. One of the famous stops on the cliff’s trails is the makeshift sign mark by chiseled valleys, emerald peaks, and spires of jagged rock. For some visitors, they come to witness the impressive ribbon of ochre cliffs, but to the real adventurers and thrillers, it is the spectacular challenging hike that excites them.

#2 Trango Towers

How strong is your experience in rock climbing? Would you be able to handle the toughest? If so, Pakistan dares you to take the level up challenge. A huge granite spike extends up to 396 feet, towering over a landscape covered in ice fields, huge boulders and dry riverbeds. The Trango Towers is one of hardest in the world. Its peaks have the highest vertical faces on the planet. In 1975, the mountaineering challenge finally opened for everyone, allowing the summit race to the toughest peak to begin. #1 Preikestolen Cliff

Our top cliff astounds visitors with beauty for its stunning formations from glacial activity. It is a rock tower of granite that existed for over 10,000 years and rose up to 600 meters in Rogaland, Norway. But this incredible wonder freezes a lot of people with primal fear. The Preikestolen Cliff’s highlight is the thrilling base jumping from its edge! It is indeed dangerous; however, safety measures will be in place. You’ll be jumping off in a wingsuit, which will be your remarkable highlight in visiting this cliff. The summit’s cliff is flat, which the locals say was initially meant for sacrificial ground years ago. According to a legend, if the area is surrounded with seven marrying couples, the Pulpit Rock will break and can cause a horrifying tumble. So, if you are “taking the plunge”, we highly recommend the ceremony is performed elsewhere first, and this can be a symbolic after-the-fact. Happy diving!
